Why are we here? What is our purpose? Are we fulfilled? How do we find peace?
I ask these questions often when I take time to think about my life to date. I question why do people suffer, and how can I do more to humbly listen and serve those in pain? I believe in my heart that we are here for one simple reason to glorify God, and we do tangibly do that by caring for and loving others.
One thing I have personally felt is the connection to service and purpose. When we step outside of ourselves to support others in need, whether it being providing food or a listening ear, we lean further into our purpose. You can serve others and fulfill your purpose with your job too. It does not have to be volunteering as the only means to identify your purpose.
Once you shift internally and make that connection between service and purpose, we can begin to feel a sense of fulfillment which ultimately can lead to a feeling of deeper peace. It’s the concept of picking our head up, choosing gratitude, and looking around us to see how we can use our life, our flame, to ignite others with love and compassion.
I founded F4 without expectations, and with one simple goal; to help others, more specifically to feed people that were hungry. That same grounding rings true 15 years later (19 years was our first meal) and will continue to rest at the heart of all we do now and into the future.
As we have grown, so have our needs for volunteers. If you are interested in transporting food, cooking meals, or hosting a food drive, please contact us at Team@F4service.org.
Together we can create a world without hunger and food insecurity!
